Calm. Engage. Integrate.
Deanna Lazaro, LCSW
clinical supervisor
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California with over 10 years of experience in mental health and addictive disorders. My passion is to help you simultaneously identify what holds you back from attaining your goals and envision how you want to write your future. I view struggles in life as open doors for new beginnings. I also recognize that all change—including positive change—can be difficult to navigate.
I have a wide-ranging clinical skillset.
My wide-range of work experiences have given me an eclectic and diverse skillset, which allows me to adapt to your needs and life stage. I integrate a trauma-informed and evidenced-based treatments when guiding those affected by domestic violence, disabilities, grief, anxiety, and depression. I have experience working with children, teens, young adults, adults, families, and couples seeking guidance as relationships evolve.
I am committed to an integrative systems approach.
I integrate many modalities including EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. I am skilled in helping clients move past life obstacles toward life fulfillment. Because mental health issues are not contained within an individual, I use a person-in-environment and systems perspective. This approach understand life challenges as a complex relationship between one’s personal experiences, culture, gender + orientation identity, spirituality, and physical health.
I have a strong educational background and well rounded experience.
I received a Master’s Degree of Social Work from California State University Bakersfield with an emphasis in mental health treatment. I have experience working in Batterer Intervention Programs via Garden Pathways, family counseling via Kaiser Permanente, school-based and community-based counseling via The Children’s Center (Springfield, OR), Transitional Age Youth counseling via Community Research Foundation, and adult dual-diagnosis counseling via Union of Pan Asian Communities.
I love to teach and mentor therapists.
In addition to direct services to clients I am also a Clinical Supervisor and help guide associate clinicians to licensure.
I embrace self-care.
To achieve work-life balance, I can be found hiking, camping, gardening, and generally enjoying being in nature. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and community as well as painting, photography, theatre, and the arts in general. I also strongly believe in integrating self-care into everyday moments and can be found mindfully sipping coffee or enjoying a homemade charcuterie board throughout the day.
