Calm. Engage. Integrate.

INTEGRATIVE ACUPUNCTURIST
I am here to support your mental health journey by listening and responding to the needs of your body.
As a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine with over 20 years experience as a somatic practitioner, I believe in treating the whole person with compassion, curiosity and skill. I enjoy facilitating treatments that assist a person towards homeostasis in a joyful and educational way. I have received extensive training in western and eastern body modalities; craniosacral training, and a variety of emotional liberation techniques. I pull from a unique tool box when creating treatment plans.
I was drawn to somatic modalities in order to understand the mechanics of the body, to move efficiently as a professional dancer/performer/teacher, and to regulate emotions. My integration of clinical methods organically influences my work, fueling passion in research, and making my treatments dynamic and socially inclusive.
I am a graduate of Pacific College of Health and Sciences and holds a Doctorate in Chinese Medicine Acupuncture/Herbs, and a masters of science in Traditional Chinese medicine. My somatic education includes both western and eastern modalities with a focus on the energetic blueprint, anatomical structural system and effective communication skills with the intention to harmonize the body/mind/spirit. I am UCSD alumni holding two degrees in Art History and cultural anthropology with an emphasis on visceral movement practice/performance and ritual.
A session with me centers around a deep listening to the body’s intelligence as a way to gain momentum towards getting as many needs met as possible. One approach I use is called the Three Point Method. Three different modalities are used simultaneously to tap into the nervous system/body brain for a whole body shift toward comfort, healing and efficiency. A blend I often use is Craniosacral, Reflexology, Structural Integration, and body compression with an emphasis on bone marrow which increases the mobility and motility of movement in the structure of the body/mind. Another example of Three Point Method is Reflexology, acupuncture/meridian therapy, and breath work with guided meditation. Every session caters to the needs of the individual.
I strongly believe in offering a systematic way for the patient to learn how to integrate the health benefits achieved in the treatment. When the energetic pattern shifts in the body the mind follows organically. In order for these shifts to become sustainable, the body/mind needs a simple daily practice to ground the changes in the body/mind that can foster healthy habits to turn into characteristic traits.
