Spiritual Direction

Do you want to feel more spiritually connected?
Integrative spiritual direction may be the support you need.
- Are you longing for something deeper?
- Do you know that you want more spiritual connection, but feel unsure how to go about it?
- Did you previously feel a sense of God, Divine, your higher self, but it seems like it has been a long time since you were able to connect effectively?
- Do you have wariness about participation in a spiritual community due to negative experiences from the past?
- Are you hoping for some guidance to support your ability to reconnect in this area?
What is Integrative Spiritual Direction?
Integrative spiritual direction is a process in which we help you to connect more deeply with your spiritual self. We operate with the assumption that we are spiritual beings with access to the Divine if we slow ourselves and work through the barriers to this listening process.
Integrative spiritual direction at Create Wellbeing differs from what you might receive in the context of a spiritual community or from a spiritual teacher (pastor, priest, rabbi, imam, monk, etc) because it takes into consideration the mental health issues and emotional trauma history that might be barriers to spiritual connection.
The guidance of a spiritual director who is also a mental health professional supports the complexities and interplay of spiritual and emotional connection to provide a nurturing environment for this vulnerable exploration and listening process.

How does Integrative Spiritual Direction work?
Like all modalities, Integrative Spiritual Direction synchronizes with the Create Wellbeing Model of Care to:
CALM any distress, fear, or reluctance you have about engaging with your spiritual self.
ENGAGE your whole self, by getting to know your spiritual history, your religious traditions, your current beliefs, and anything in your life that you believe is getting in the way of helping you to connect.
INTEGRATE spiritual healing into you life by developing spiritual practices, engaging in community, and feeling a consistent sense of connection spiritually that guides you and leads you to deeper wellbeing.
